I should be packing stuff and preparing to enter university instead of worrying over being unable to catch the awesome new list of summer 2010 (June-July) anime! ARGHHHHHH! Why am I all obsessed over watching fictitious shows when I should be more concerned about more important things in life? Sheesh.
(If I have a chance to minor in a language, I'm DEFINITELY taking Japanese. BWAHAHAHA!)
Anyway... I'll be looking forward to these:
(despite maybe being unable to catch up to them :( )
Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin (Occult Academy)
Horror and school comedy series - a strange mix that may probably be worth the watch, I hope?Honestly, I've had a little too much of supernatural happenings in an academy-like city after watching a double dose of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun and now To Aru Majutsu no Index. But to be fair, I shouldn't just rule it out unjustly just because I'm rushing to finish up watching everything I collected. XD
Maya is the daughter of the former Headmaster of a private Japanese academy. Maya's father was very dedicated to the study of the occult but died mysteriously back in 1999. The entire anime revolves around Maya and a Uchida, a mysterious young man who time travels from the past, present and future.
Kuroshitsuji 2 (The Black Butler)
OMG! Does anybody remember my gorgeous Sebastian the demon butler? And the chibi Ciel?SEASON 2 ROBS ME OF THE GORGEOUS SEBASTIAN. Something that pains me terribly. :(
However, the new season revolves around YET another butler and his master, which trails closely to the demon-butler-serves-master concept in Kuroshitsuji 1. The new butler Claude Faustus now serves Alois Trancy - and I must say, Alois Trancy is seriously the eye-candy character to observe. NYAHAHAHAHAHA! Unless there are megane fans out there who might prefer the bespectacled demon butler. XD
Nurarihyon no Mago (Grandchild of Nurarihyon)
Human-demon plot. Me likey! XDThis anime revolves around Rikuo Nura who has a quarter demon blood (youkai) in him. He lives in a house full of spirits with his grandfather. Rikuo is destined to inherit the title of head of Nura youkai clan from his grandfather - despite trying to escape his fate of being a quarter demon.
So basically we have a reluctant part-youkai who's trying to defy his fate as clan leader. And of course anime of this genre will have quite a few antagonists - that present themselves as opposing factions wishing to overthrow Rikuo as head in this anime. Sounds interesting enough, though, no?
Shi Ki (Corpse Demon)
Pretty girls, cute guys and an unpredictable horror/paranormal event - AWESOME! This one is the most highly anticipated among the three for me. Whoo-hoo! I LOVE horror stuff! Let's just hope it doesn't let down like Mouryou no Hako... XDIt gives off an unmistakable Higurashi aura, in which I felt was completely killed by characters who look too cute to give out the horror vibes. Furude Rika is NOT suitable to play such a leading role in the series and that kinda annoys me at times. I actually prefer the Higurashi manga oneshots which centralizes on the misfortune that befalls those who move out of Hinamizawa - what with the Oyashiro-sama's curse.
Eh... to sum it up? I LOVE gruesome and grotesque stuff. BWAHAHAHAHAHA XD
Saw the preview of Shi Ki and am pretty amazed by the music and the mystery! But the lead character is a woman and so - HMMM. You know I'm not too fond of women as lead characters. Well, hopefully Shi Ki will have a cast of mysterious looking characters who are fit enough to get the mood settings on track!
I'm ALL PUMPED UP AND EXCITED!!! XD XD
In case you're wondering how I'm killing my eyes as of now, I'm watching Seiken no Burakkusumisu (The Sacred Blacksmith), To Aru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index), Kampfer, Canaan, Durarara, Yumeiro Patissier and 07 Ghost.
I'm also attempting to finish up all the OLDER anime I neglected to watch some years ago, including names like: Rozen Maiden, Soul Link, Prince of Tennis: National Championship, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, xxxHolic, Tales of Symphonia, Hayate no Gotoku, Valkyria Chronicles and Tears to Tiara. Most unlikely to finish them all, though. :(
DARN! Shouldn't have bought so many to begin with! SHEESH.
Of course I'm still watching all the other ongoing stuff: Naruto Shippuden, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Hakuoki Shinsengumi Kitan, Senkou no Night Raid, Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, Uraboku and even Seikon no Qwaser (Director's Cut). HAHAHAHA! It's IMPERATIVE that I add that 'Director's Cut' so that otakus out there will realise I'm not as hentai as you think I am. BWAHAHAHAHA.
And MANDA darling, you'll be surprised how watchable it actually is compared to the uncensored version. XD
Finished Mouryou no Hako just last week - that anime has more talk than action. GAHHHH. Also done with Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, finally.
And thus, I shall continue on my marathon for as long as I can keep this up. WAHHHHH!! Let me finish at least 60% of them before next week, please? *sniffs*
