A Streak of "Silver Soul"

Whoo-hoo!!! I've been wanting to write out this post since forever!!! But somehow, I wanted to wait til there was some unveiling of a plot before I actually BLOG about it. (Or else there would be nothing to blog about except for the known fact that Gintama has a whole lot of parodies in it. XD)

GINTAMA- Highly contradicting in ratings!!

I'm on a super crazy Gintama marathon these days!! And this whole long-running series is well, half-good and half-bad. And uniquely? This disparity is the one that makes this whole anime all the more funnier, stupider and so unambiguously unpredictable.

The down side of Gintama? Hmmm.

I can understand why Rene decided to abandon this anime after 5 episodes. HAHAHAHA. Yup. It's just cause the whole anime starts out bland without a plot. the first 5-7 episodes tells you how Sakata Gintoki met with his sidekicks: Shinpachi, Kagura, Zura (or Katsura? I'm SO influenced by Gin-chan), even Otae-san, the Shinsengumi 'bakas' and gorillas... AHEM. XD (I LOVE Shinsengumi's Okita, btw. XD)

Shinsengumi's gorilla: Kondou-san.
Anybody surprised he's the head of Shinsengumi, the most elite police force in the Government? XD XD

After that, the next few episodes that follow are lacking embellishment and gives viewers the slightest IMPACT any anime can give. Yup.

And at times, the comedy gets a little overdone. A little over the top, too simple, too rash... too eager. There are times when I actually get annoyed cause both lazy bums Kagura and Gin refuse to listen to Shinpachi's nagging! And from episodes 8-28 or so? I was tired of Kagura's ridiculous rantings - proof of her inferior character development as to Shinpachi and Gin. I dunno. I was just annoyed! XD

There are also times when the narrating part at the start of the anime was more of a waste of time than as to stand out as a joke or to connect with viewers. I vaguely remember that there was a time when Shin, Gin and Kagura spent some 2 mins talking about being off the prime-time slot and being killed by sponsors and producers, etc. It IS unpredictable, but somewhat, dull.

Did I mention: no plot? HAHAHAHAHA.

"NONONONONONONO!" says Gin-chan!
"It's not my role to write the entire plot of the show!! I'm a mere actor!!"

The up-side of Gintama however...

... is also the hilarious comedy in it, ironically! XD I guess humour is a double-edged sword? HAHAHAHA.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!!
OOOOOH!!!! There REALLY was an episode where Zura (or Katsura?) and Gin dressed up as women throughout the entire episode cause they insulted a man-dressed-as-a-woman's job at the Kabuki district. YUP. XD

THEY ARE SOOOOOOO PRETTTTTY!!!

For example: The whole episode about Gin finding a fan and not an air-cond was just hilariously out of this world! Also, the part where Gin meets his Jump nemesis - when they were fighting it out for the Special Jump Christmas Edition! Or the episode where Zura (or Katsura?) found Elizabeth with 'her' family? Or the beginning of the second year where the whole Gintama cast asked the audience for ideas to improve on the show! (I specially liked Sa-chan's S&M idea the most. HAHAHAHA. 2nd best idea would be Otae's Drago-Bleach-Piece!!)

I loved the Uchiha Itachi parodies. Or the landlady turning into Orochimaru! Or the random Gin-chan dressing in Sena Kobayakawa's eyeshield and football gear! The untimely shouts of 'BANGKAI!!!"

Gintama parodying Bleach!!! XD XD
Gin-chan as Ichigo, Shinpachi as the Quincy( I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT HIS NAME!!!!), Kagura as Inoue!

Of course - Gintama is no Gintama without its one thousand and one PARODIES! They had parts from One Piece, Naruto (even Shippuden!), Bleach, Conan, Eyeshield 21, Kindaichi.... and loads more! Japanese viewers can REALLY REALLY relate to the anime because a large chunk of the beautiful Japanese culture is so greatly portrayed in so many scenes.

Next! THE BISHIES. OMG. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT TO FIND BISHIES IN SUCH A SHONEN ANIME?!?!?! On second thought, most bishies come from Shonen or Shoujo anime genres. Oops. XD

Okita-san: the most horrible SADIST in the Shinsengumi!!
Ooooh! How I love sadists!!! Okita-san reminds me so much of my darling Fuji SYusuke whom I miss dearly!!

The sadist Okita!! Always planning to kill off Hijikata-san. Hijikata is Okita's comrade in the Shinsengumi. HAHAHAHAHA.

The beautiful Katsura/Zura!!! I love Elizabeth-san!!

Of course, not forgetting: THE SUPER YENG TAKASUGI. Super gorgeous, super hawt, super BISHIE. YENG-NESS. (The villians are always the hottest. HAHAHAHA)

*nosebleeds*

Let's not forget that our main character KINTAMA, no erm, GINTAMA is also quite a bishie himself~! *love love*

(Kintama, like my FB says means GOLDEN TESTICLES. Boost your vocab together with me, ppl! XD)

Huh, who, me? The bishie? Or are you talking bout my son who is the mirror image of me?

(Spoiler: The cute baby with those 'dead, lazy eyes' -as so the entire Gintama cast says - is surprisingly NOT Gin's son. HAHAHAHA)

(Haven't found decent bishies for a long time now. :( Especially those silver-haired ones like my beloved Sephiroth. :( )

*nosebleeds*

I was watching episode 58 today and WOW! It surprised me to no end! This Benizakura arc that started at episode 58 was (I think?) the start of a more serious Gintama. And I'm impressed! There's a world of difference separating episode 57 and 58. I'm just so taken aback by the sudden unpredictability in 'seriousity' that I actually fell in love with the anime head over heels!

(Thank GOD that Shippuden's Forbidden Scroll & the 6th Bijuu Mystery arc is finally over and done with at episode 151/ 481. Can't wait to see Naruto's expression when he finds out Ero-Sennin is dead! OMG! I'm mean, and I know it. HAHAHAHA. Sorry if this spoiler just slipped off my tongue for those who do not know that Jiraiya-sama is dead.

Ironic, no? How the three Sannins apprentices are repeating the same mistake the Sannins made before?!?!? Sasuke under Orochimaru, who abandoned Konoha. Naruto under Jiraiya - ever loud, bubbly and stupid. XD Sakura under Tsunade: amazing how these two tomboys have crazy, brute strength.)

OOPS. Sorry, I digress. XD

Anyway, no matter how contradicting opinions may be about Gintama, it's still a show worth watching. I watched episodes 30-40 in one night, and I LAUGHED MY TUMMY UPSIDE DOWN. Seriously. HAHAHAHA. So all in all? 6/10. I recommend splurging your precious time on this anime - think of it as a way to de-stress, no?

.....and of course, to devour the bishies. XD

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ju's celebration!

Once again, would love to elaborate, but since I'm on some kinda weird blogging frenzy instead of a sleeping frenzy, I'll just post up some pics of Ju's bday!

We met up at a lounge where the cocktail menu surprised us to no end. HAHAHAHA. Was so tempted to order some *toots* but somehow managed to stop myself from damaging my liver. HAHAHAHAHA.

Wonderful menu!

Ju and Vin having a light laugh over HuiYing and MYen's cat-fight.

Somehow Ju looks very headmistress-ly... HAHAHA

MYen as usual: never fails to smile ever so erm, funnily.

I fell asleep waiting for the Udon to come. HuiYing then poked my feet with my fork, causing me to be completely traumatised by my own feet. HAHAHAHA.

While I was eating, HYing kept setting off this timer function on my handphone that I never knew existed. HAHAHAHAA. Kept making me choke on my food! XD

Met Jon at Gurney Drive! Thank goodness he decided to take part in our surprise plan for Ju! HYing and I can definitely win the Oscar award for best gay actor and most convincing actress la. BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Dunno what nonsense bout Ama SMS-ing me la, leaving my handphone in the car la... when we were actually planning to take out the cake from the car instead. HAHAHAHA.

Thanks again, Jon!

Ju and Jon

Ju's bday cake! TASTY!

And that concludes my posts for today! FUUUUHHHHHHH, THREE POSTS!!! Wow. I'm amazed myself. Will upload more stuff if MYen uploads stuff to FB. Eyes are drooping off right now... XD

Til then, I'm OUT light a light bulb. Ciao, ppl!

10:41 PM

Preparations for Vin's Farewell

I should post this instead of posting Vin's actual farewell first but... I'M TOO TIRED TO CHANGE THE CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS. Sorry, dudes. Completely flat out today but somehow managed to blog out something today. HAHAHAHA.

We met up at my house up in Balik Pulau for a sleepover. More like a 'wakeover' considering how little we actually snoozed. OMG. MYen and HuiYing arrived at PROBABLY 11.30PM. WOW. Erm, so yup... when we started work it was probably already 12 or something. XD

HYing and I were busy assembling bear parts and SEWING A TEDDY BEAR FROM SCRATCH. Yup. That's how brilliant we are in sewing. Ama and MYen were busy with the banner.

Without the head the entire body of the bear looked fine. By the time we were done with just the PARTS, but not assembling it yet, it was already 4.30AM or so. Yup.

This is how our masterpiece looks without the head sewn on yet!

Ama and MYen at the banner probably around 5AM. Wow.

By the time this pic was taken it was probably 5.20AM already. HAHAHAHA. Don't you think the bear looks really photogenic? AWWW. :0 *love love*

Result of HuiYing's hard work and mine. XD

Her name's MRS. SHIDA, btw!

So my house was THIS messy when we were working on the stuff. There were bits of cloth, paper, string and crayons everywhere! Plus coffee on the table, of course. HAHAHAHAHA.

I look horribly sleepy!!! :O

AND THE RESULTS OF OUR HARD WORK:

1. Result of COMPLETION!!! The glorious banner!!!

2. Result of completion!! The gorgeous bear, Mrs. Shida!

3. The result of completion!!! 3 people wrestling it out for a spot on my bed!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA the third part was just kidding. But we were of course damn tired after we were done. Ama and I hardly slept a wink til 6.30AM for some crazy reason. XP

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE~!!! I'm surprised at my anti-sleep endurance!!! BWAHAHAHAHA. All for Vin darling~! <3

Vin's Surprise Farewell

Vin's farewell held yesterday night at Vin's poolside~

Pictures randomly stolen from Wendy's FB. Would love to elaborate but am horribly tired today, sorry~

Guess who showed up??

Vin must be EXTREMELY important that even the rare and cute, grown-up Geok Hooi decides to show up! Whee~!!

To quote Vin, "These 5 surely come wan la. (Ama, Ju, HYing, MYen and myself) But all of you pulak! This was unexpected!" BWAHAHAHAHA. Which means I did the right thing to invite all the others: HuiMei, Geok Hooi, Apek, Jon, Nicque and Cheah Yeem. THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING ONCE AGAIN. I can't thank you all enough for making this extra special for darling Vin. :)

Sorry, JeanLi, Vern, Gerry, HuiMin and Jill that you all missed this. :( When Vin comes back, we're gonna run there, all 16 of us, crash at Vin's and sleepover! WHEE~!! XD

The 2 infamous monkeys. XD

These two funny men (Apek and Jon) actually trespassed into a VACANT house's window-balcony thingy. WHOA. Funny how Ama and I forgot to ask them to teach us how to climb up there. HAHAHAHA

The both of them then SERIOUSLY jumped down from up there. WHOA.

That's how they look like when they're up there~!

When the star of the night shows up...

MYen brings Vin down and blindfolds Vin. When the blindfold was removed, Vin realised she was standing in a candle-lit heart!

SURPRISE!!!

All of us hidden in the bushes and all pops up and sings a strange rendition of 'Happy Birthday' replaced with the word 'farewell'.

Look how brightly our heart shines for Vin. :)

In the dark. Our candle-lit heart.

Blowing the candles with everything we've got in us! HAHAHAHA.

I kinda fell down flat since I was too hungry and all. XD

Aww. Vin, Ah Hooi and MYen.

Random talking around...

(Look how much someONE has grown up. *sighs*)

Us.

I hope Vin will treasure this surprise farewell we've thrown as much as we enjoyed planning for it~! It took us an entire night to prepare it for you! As far as you may be, our memories and our love for you will never wither away. All you have to do is to carry on pursuing your dreams while holding us dear to your heart.

And the simple truth? We simply love you, Vin.

... And I'm sure you feel just the same.

.... Hugs X16. :)

Strength and Faith.

A serious thought trampled across my mind after reading Apek's blog. As sleepy as I am, let me just take this opportunity to fatten up my blog with my random rantings. XD

STRENGTH. A simple word that carries its own definition amongst different people in this world. Some find it in companionship; some find it in the warmth of their loved ones and some find strength in love. Different people have different ways to describe strength - all defining it in their own context. And amazingly, I have my own. :)

I happen to think that strength is synonymous with faith. Faith in the Lord, my God. Faith in my loved ones. And even, faith; in myself. Faith GIVES us strength - to endure the ups and downs in our lives. Faith gives us strength - to tear down mental boundaries that separates us from the checkered flag; to remind us that there is no limit to what we can do. Faith is strength; a hidden drive that brings out the best potential in us.

If you fail today, let this be a reminder that we have lost JUST this battle but not the war. What determines your victory, however, is your own inner strength. Take time to reflect on past mistakes that led to your failure.

And just by vying to change for the better - you ARE a stronger person already.

The Lord is My Shepherd, and as long as He is with me, I know that my strength (and faith) will never waver.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:18

DAVIDDDDDDD~!!!

David is so cute!!! I would have thought him as some strange, annoying person last time but the fact he remembers me, and the promises he made to our class somehow MOVES my heart of stone. OMGGGG~!! David is sooooo CUTE!!! And since he IS SO CUTE, I think I'm gonna go visit him on MONDAY~! Whee~!!

Oh yeah, this is David. Combo shots of him for some people (like a certain TWO PEOPLE I KNOW WHO LOVE HIM *ahem*) to enjoy. FOR those two people who just can't get enough of him. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA Sc2 people will know who they are. GAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Sorry, that's not David but a pic of the AWESOME Mr. Deven. I MISS YOU SIRRRRRRR!!!!! I miss our insanely fun and interesting classes!!! I love Bio because of your classes!!!

Erm, sorry. Coming back to David pics...

YUP, that's our dear David, alright.
These combo shots are specially dedicated to MY and Ama. XD

According to HuiYing, he actually waited for us at his house during CNY because we told him we wanted to go and visit during CNY! He prepared angpaus and such! And HuiYing is so TOUCHED by that. HAHAHAAHAHA.

Of course David remembers me as his crazy student who aspires to be the future Prime Minister. XD And also as the crazy monitor who keeps making him belanja ice cream~

HuiYing said when she saw him in school recently, he was eating STRAWBERRY ICE-CREAM. Reminiscing on the times he had someone to belanja?

We'll never forget the promise he made to give us RM50 if we scored 'A' for PA in STPM. WHICH IS WHY I'M TAKING THE TROUBLE TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY TO CLAIM MY MONEY & ANGPAU. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Prepare and ice cream for me too, sir! Nyahahahahaha~

....and maybe we'll have a little surprise in store for you too, Sir. :)

Random Thoughts on American Idol Season 9

UNLIKE my crazy cousin Manda who spends her entire blog and Plurk on American Idol, I'm here to blog a one-time-post (probably? Unless some contestant blows me off my feet. XD) about my disappointment on AI9. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. From my brief moments every now and then switching on and off between Star World and 8TV, I noticed something crucial that Season 9 contestants really lacked.

I happen to think that that missing something is called IMPACT.

Let's compare this season with the last which was just - absurdly explosive. XD

Last season, American Idol was just PURELY entertaining! They had names that we will never forget; names like Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta. Of course there's my darling Kris Allen who won the show, but to be completely HONEST with you, I NEVER really noticed him til the week he sang 'She Works Hard for the Money'. HAHAHAHAHA. YEAH. Like Kara once said, he's the dark horse in the competition! You never really noticed him til there were about 5-6 people left, and suddenly his vocals just blows you away. Go Kris! I rooted for you from that week til the end!!! XD XD

Kris Allen *swoons*

But people like Adam, Danny and Allison really made you want to listen to them from the start to the end of the competition! Even Scott MacIntyre was a name I would remember - as the talented man who was robbed of his vision but NEVER failed in making an impact on American Idol!

Adam Lambert: forever gay and beautiful *nosebleeds*

I miss even the Norman 'Gentle' last season who made it to top 24!! What the heck. XD And if Tatiana Del Toro had joined this season, I think she would have gone REALLY far just by singing 'Saving All My Love You' 10 weeks in a row. XD

Now who'd forget the season's 2nd most entertaining contestant?!?!
(1st is definitely Adam. XD) Norman Gentle!

This season, the only potential I see in the men's group is actually Lee Dewyze. Kinda reminds us of Chris Daughtry or David Cook, no? HAHAHAHAHA. I'll be really happy if he chooses to sing Cook's songs on Idol someday! YAY! Andrew Garcia has a great voice but, hmm, he keeps choosing the wrong songs to sing...

Lee Dewyze: Stands miles away over all the other men.

Some people like my mum really look forward to Casey, but I think it is unlikely that he'll be winning the competition. It's so early in the competition and he just doesn't seem like the kinda person who can actually go any further than where he already is. At least that's what I think. Ahahaha. No offense, Casey fans! I know there are plenty of you out there! (Sorry, Kara.)

Casey: No eye-candy nor ear-candy for me.
Reminds you of Bucky, anyone?

Of course there's slightly more choice among the women to root as winner. On top of my list is Didi Benami, followed by um, probably, Crystal Bowersox. The rest don't appeal much to me... sadly. And it's strange that the judges mention that this year's talent is great; because it's barely even a shadow of last season's RAW talent and entertainment.

.... and I'm not exactly a fan of supporting a potential female winner. XD BWAHAHAHAHAHA. No! Not gender discrimination; but naturally - I feel better supporting a male to win. BWAHAHAHAHAHA gay-ness to the max!! XD XD

... Which means I'm left to supporting just Lee Dewyze. *sighs*

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even Simon looks bored - week after week! Does he miss Paula? Or is he just disappointed? XD It's amusing to see him get so annoyed. BWAHAHAHAHAHA

Probably the biggest impact this season is that - Alex Lambert - BECAUSE his NAME sounds pretty much like Adam Lambert. HAHAHAHAHA. My mum keeps thinking they are brothers! XD But vocally? My speculation is that he won't go very far. Maybe he'll be around for another 2-3 weeks or so and that'll be his last performance. Yup. I'm straightforward, honest and mean. HAHAHAHAHA (Simon the mentor.)

Alex Lambert: Plain old, same old.

The problem with this season is that: I'm not gonna remember the contestants or their performances at all. They look and they sound forgettable; nobody stands out apart from the rest. They are all normal, and I'm thinking that people like Tim Urban (sorry, but this is really mean) shouldn't even BE there. (How did he survive the first week?!?!) Their performances are too stiff, they pick the wrong songs, they don't hit certain notes - and they are just ORDINARY. None of them have got, what I think is STAR quality.

Which is why this season is so bland and unexciting. So predictable that this is probably the first and the last time I'll be blogging about it.

Unless somebody majorly improves and sings the brains outta me! Whee~! Blows me away with vocals and onstage presence! Captivates me and inspires me to blog about him/her!

... but I suppose there's nothing much to expect out of this season. Hmm. Prove me wrong, Season 9 people. PLEASE.

Oh yeah. A random thought. Say, where is Taylor Hicks now, by the way?!?!

Having all said that and sounding like a pro: it's not that I can actually sing, either. BWAHAHAHAHAHA.

No flames please! Whee~!

POT OVA: ~Memories of Past and Future~

Yet another post that has nothing to do with me whatsoever!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I dunno if I'm the last or the first person (among my lovable POT friend fans!) to notice this Prince of Tennis OVA: The Prince of Naniwa ~Memories of Past and Future~. When I saw it in stores today I was like, "HEY! I wanna watch this!" BWAHAHAHAHA. Only done with the first episode for now (there are only 4 episodes to this OVA...) and well, it brings back those nutty memories we darlings in MGS shared in Form 4 and 5. Plus, the OVA title really kinda makes you reminiscence!! XD

The first episode starts with a bang: Seigaku members travel to Osaka for a practice battle with Shitenhouji, (er, was it?? I keep mixing up with Eyeshield 21's Shi- something. Ermmm... Shi- Shi- Shi- Shinruji Nagas!! GAHHHHHH. Both schools wear monk-ish clothes when in a game. Gets me all confused... XD )

Seigaku visits Shi- er... Shitenhouji!! But looks like Tezuka has a hidden
motive behind this visit...

As usual, POT is never POT without its hilarious lines! From the very START of episode one of this OVA to the very end of it, it was just funny! Momoshiro and Kaidou love making fools out of themselves, while the Shitenhouji 'funny men' were just... NUTS!

Remember the two gay jokers from Shitenhouji? They always aspire to be jokers but usually nobody laughs except for my darling Fuji. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Shitenhouji's Funny Gay Men!!
Do notice that one of them has boobs. HAHAHAHAHA. I laughed like a madgay during this scene!

The matches were fantastically paired up right from the start!! A showdown between Fuji and the genius of Shitenhouji (The Genius Pair) vs. Kawamura and the Shitenhouji powerhouse (The Power Pair). Sorry I forgot all the names of the players from Shitenhouji. HAHAHAHA. It's been 3 years since I last watched POT!

In fact it took me quite a while to remember Seigaku players. I was to lazy to Wiki. XD

Other funny match pairings were between the Funny Men Pairs (Momo with one vs. Kaidoh with the other one), Tezuka vs. the future of Shitenhouji (the guy who fought against Echizen in the Nationals, what's his name??!!) and Eiji Kikumaru vs someone (The Speed Match). Forgive my poor memory. Ahahaha.

The Eiji match was so erm 'troubling' that I laughed like nuts while Tezuka and Oishi too commented on the match.

Troubled seniors. Oishi says, "What kind of world do we live in?"

The OVA basically tells us what the seniors are going to do as they graduate. Tezuka will leave for Germany while Oishi...

... OISHI TURNS GAY?!?!?!

Nah. Although I wish much for that. HAHAHAHAHA. This Eiji and Oishi scene was so gay-ish that I JUST couldn't resist putting it up here. JUST look at how Eiji is sitting, OMG!

Oishi was actually telling Eiji that he wants to do medicine and become a doctor.

ANYWAY.

PREPARE FOR NOSEBLEEDS BECAUSE COMING UP
NEXT IS A GLIMPSE OF..
..

*NOSEBLEEDS*

(Despite the warning, I just couldn't control the quantity of blood in my nose.) Fuji dresses ever so sexily in yukata!! OMGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!! *nosebleeds once more*

Here Fuji *nosebleeds* has this really funny thought of trying to play tennis in a sexy yukata. *nosebleeds* HAHAHAHAHA. And Inui actually thinks that they can reach Echizen's father's heights in tennis. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Won't the yukata actually constrain your movements??!!

The next part was HILARIOUS where Sumire Ryuzaki (principal) emerges in the midst of Seigaku's pillow fight with Higa Middle!!! (Yup, PILLOW FIGHT.) I was like, OMG!!! She was wearing a sexy see-through nightgown!!! All members fainted at the sight. HAHAHAHAHAHA

At the end of the episode, Tezuka reveals his hidden motive:

They are leaving the leadership to Momoshiro and Kaidoh!! Since Echizen ain't around, its up to those two jokers to run the Seigaku Tennis Team. I wonder is they'll make it work in the next episode?

ANYWAY. I was really excited to see this OVA because I thought it was the end for POT after the Nationals. Glad to know that I can still reunite with my darling Fuji even after the National Championships!!! YAYYYYY!!

... Next, I'll have to pray hard to be reunited with my darling Hiruma from Eyeshield 21. I just don't understand how they can bear to leave the anime hanging like that after Ojo vs. Devil Bats. WHAT THE HECK!! It was frustrating.

I really miss POT~!! This OVA sure brings back memories of us drawing graffiti on those Physics lab tables, MGS darlings! And of course it reminds me much of the graffiti in my 2007 yearbook. XD
