PLAY > STUDY. Yeaaaaahhhhh, baby!

Whooooo-hoooooo! I've been infected with the gaming fever during this exam season (note that: EXAM SEASON) as if possessed by a gamer's soul or something. I've been completely hooked on KINGDOM HEARTS: BIRTH BY SLEEP that this gaming marathon puts my previous gaming speed accomplishment with Tales of Legendia to shame. BWAHAHAHAHA.

Note that I took just 5 nights to finish Legendia. XD

AND HERE I AM, done with Aqua's part of the Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep story in just TWO DAYS. OMG?!?!?!

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
A must-play for all KH fans out there!

Small spoilers later in this post. BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Be prepared to get infected by my passion for gaming. XD

Well, KH: Birth by Sleep comes with a new concept - revolving around the three main characters: Aqua, Terra and Ventus. Goodbye, Sora, goodbye, Riku! (YEAHHHH!)

The battle of Light vs Darkness revolves around them this time around.

(Although, I feel that Riku fans like me will hardly miss him. Aqua's SOOOOO like, the female version of him?) And yes, Manda. I know you're gonna say something about Chaos from Xenosaga. XD

In order to watch the final ending in which the relationship between Light and Darkness is explained, gamers are required to finish the entire game at least once with each character. We only get to play one character at a time, and then start a New Game+ with the next. Interesting, no?

Keyblades also get buffed-up-out-of-this-world powers in this title.
Imagine Keyblades = Gummi Ships? HAHAHAHAHAHA

Keyblades also have the power to cloak its wielder in armor. WOW. Could you believe how powerful Keyblades were before Sora's time?

Gosh. I would have thought both photos were from the same game if I didn't play either one. Or if the Keyblades were hidden. XD

So far I've completed Aqua's part of the story - in STANDARD MODE ONLY (my biggest regret ever. Should have done PROUD straight away) - and I'm head over heels in love with her. YEAHHHH. Take that, Vinny Tan! XD That's how a real woman should be! XD

The reason why I love Aqua even more so is because there was a part in which Zack appeared at the Hercules Colosseum. KH gamers, what exactly do we do in the Colosseum? We FIGHT, of course - competing in all sorts of various cups and tournaments! So in Aqua's story, Zack appears as the semifinalist and we've gotta defeat him.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Now I'm currently playing Ventus, in short - Ven in PROUD MODE. I AM VERYYYYY PROUD XD XD

Just 5 hours into playing Ven's part - and I'm already at lvl 22?!?! OH MY. That IS bordering on insane ya know.

Am halfway through his part of the story - and am disturbed by the startling resemblance he bears with Roxas. Or Sora, for that matter. I quote Aqua (when she saw the cute 4-year old Riku and Sora in Destiny Island), "Oh my, this boy is the splitting image of Ven!" And of Riku, I quote, "And this boy is as honest as Terra!"

Ventus, ROXAS - or Sora? Grrr.

... sorry. Am in a hyper gaming mode right now. In fact, the only reason why I'm online is because my PSP battery's dead FLAT. XD

Tee-hee~! Anyway, if you're into SPEED over MAGIC, playing Ven's really awesome. He literally - FLIES over enemies as if he were on roller skates, dude.

The sheer awesomeness of Ven's SPEED.

Ven made the whole fight with Vanitas seem like child's play IN PROUD MODE when it took me two tries with Aqua to defeat him IN STANDARD MODE. Honestly, I died so frequently using Aqua that it was almost discouraging at one point. IN STANDARD MODE. Sheesh. Despite all I said or did, I still love Aqua more. :)

And because I finished Aqua's part... there was a slight hint on how ROXAS came about at the beginning of KH2. Sad to say - I'm still entirely confused with the whole Kingdom Hearts storyline despite finishing KH1, KH2 and even playing a little of Chain of Memories. SAD TO SAY.

Birth by Sleep is also revolving around friendship and trust, a whole lot like Sora and Riku in the original KH. In fact, much of the storyline MAY SOUND FAMILIAR to those who have played the original KH.

Examples? Terra is consumed by Darkness and is tempted by the many Dark bosses. King Mickey who somehow always manages to show in the nick of time. But then again, Kingdom Hearts would not be Kingdom Hearts without these elements. Awwww. :) *insert love for KH here*

Even the Main Menu for it looks the same :) Sorry it's blur. Directly took a photo of it from my PSP. HAHAHAHAHA. That's how absurdly crazy I am right now about gaming. XD

OOOOOOOOOH! Gonna play Terra next after I'm done with Ven!

Terra - a gamer's choice if you LOVE strength over magic or speed

Overall, one is sure to enjoy playing Birth by Sleep. I like its commands very much, which is more random and smooth compared to the stiffness of the battle system in Chain of Memories.

Other plus points about Gameplay? There are new features like D-Linking with 'friends' you've met along your journey that enables you to use their skills. Also, they have a Shooting system that's durable and fun to use. The leveling up system is fair. Although there aren't R2 and L2 buttons to press and the battle screen tends to get a little hard to follow at first, a little 'get-use-to' to the configuration solves the problem.

There are new worlds to explore and new Princesses of Light to rescue (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White!! XD) plus addition of other Disney characters like Lilo. Oh oh oh! And a whole new world known as the Keyblade Graveyard! XD There are also new geographical areas to explore in the 'old' worlds like Neverland and Radiant Garden. Some places like Destiny Island and the Colosseum still stay true in Kingdom Hearts fashion without much change.

The only down side is that when the battle involves too many Unversed (their version of Shadows), graphics lag a little. But that's all right as long as you don't game over because you can't catch up with the erratic movements. XD

On another PLUS POINT TO GAMING, I've successfully finished Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis! I love this game! I may replay it to get different endings. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! This time around, I successfully paired Vayne Aurelius up with Nikki. Oh oh oh. Here's a photo taken straight from my PSP.

Look at their babies. Awwww. At least I actually got a good ending. XD I still remember my nightmarish ending with FFX-2 that was SO LAME none of the guidebooks actually mentioned it.

This post took 2 hours. And then my PSP is fully charged again! BWAHAHAHAHAAHA

Abandoned Blog. Oops.

WAHAHAHAHAHA. I subconsciously abandoned my blog again. I haven't been too busy, but let's just say my whole laptop was half dead and gone thanks to virus attacks. Grrrrr. (That was just last week but I guess it's excuse enough?) XD

Oh and without realizing just how speedily time flies, I've successfully reached the end of the semester without going broke - yet! WAHAHAHAHAHA! Quite an accomplishment considering how often I hang out with my pals in uni. BWAHAHAHAHAHA

And of course I ended this whole semester still with an empty BRAIN, (that's COMPLETELY normal) and yeah, it's already study break for the Finals coming in a week's time. Awesome!

Ooooh. I take this opportunity to REALLY thank HRP for transforming me completely - spiritually. I started as someone who didn't quite know how to pray effectively to someone who's so attached to Him right now. :) And the growth in THAT kind of relationship really helps me grow stronger and... happier? WAHAHAHAAHA! This is the closest I've ever been in my relationship with Him and YEAH, it's still growing! Love Jess, Aud, Lily, Steph, Fong Wan, Justin, Derek, Lydia, Jethro, Melanie, Esther, Crystal, PingX2 and all loads and loads! MUAHAHAHAHAHA! Amen to that! XD

On the contrary to always having long blog posts, today I feel like summarizing everything I feel into one line.

6 Weeks

OMGGGG. After reading Apek's post about Finals I've been hit with this sudden realisation that MY finals will be up in 6 WEEKS TIME. OMG. Hear that, Kok Ming, Raz?!?! XD OMG. Time flies!

Feeling all excited and fearful at the same time, no? Excited that this sem's gonna be over and I'm finally done with WUS, excited for a month-long sem break... but darn worried that I have absolutely no clue what to expect for Finals. YIKES. Now, that's gonna be a problem. Uh-oh. XD

This whole week just back from a 2-week-long break made me feel so absolutely DISORIENTATED, LAZY and FAT. PowPow and I can barely fit into jeans that were perfectly loose for the both of us 2 weeks earlier. Disorientated that because during the 2-week break I barely did anything at all (in academic terms). And my laziness that completely EVOLVED to a different level altogether. OMG.

Past week can be summarized as: German Test... Uh-oh. And WUS, oh, WUS... uh-oh.

And then this coming week's gonna be summarized as: Genetics Test... Uh-oh. And once again, WUS, oh, WUS... uh-oh.

The whole week may see me flunking my WUS this sem altogether... OMG! Nothing's been right - came back to realise my team didn't submit Rancangan Perniagaan yet (now the lecturer won't accept it?), skipped quizzes and OMIGOSH my attendance...BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Hopefully I'll manage with a near-pass for this course, man. I don't wanna repeat this cumbersome course. Uh-oh.

On the bright side, study break in 5 weeks! OH MY. Finals.

HuiYing's lecture notes somehow served as wake-up call for me, ya know? Man, I've gotta get start working on studying seriously. I must NOT be lazy. Uh-oh. I better get started on changing my attitude right now. Yikes.

Off to try focus on Genetics right now!

(BTW: Manda. I have no idea why I didn't notice that Mana Khemia was such a nice game before. BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Playing like a psycho now! Whee-hooooo! And struggling with Dissidia's optional ending now! WHOOO-HOOOOOO! Super tough to play, man. FUHHHHH. A level 100 Zidane or Onion Knight can't even handle it Uh-oh. XD)

… and then the two-week fairy tale ends

These two weeks have been nothing but sheer fun and relaxation! In addition to finishing Tales of Legendia (plus 2 out of 8 character side quests XD), Ultimate Ninja 5, Kafka on the Shore, Senkou no Night Raid and Rosario to Vampire – I went out almost everyday with family and pals. And having visited Gurney almost 6 times in a week was BEYOND scary. XD

Not that I don’t miss my lovable/crazy/murderer uni pals – but a separation of 3 months from the ‘siau’ness of my favourite Hokkien-speaking Penangites was what made it all so different! I missed stirring up a ruckus everywhere we went, talking like loudspeakers and laughing like psychos! And these two weeks relieved all of that.

As for VINNY TAN: You siau kia everyday threatening to divorce?!?! What did I do wrong?!?! I’ll smack MYen for stealing you from me. XD (GOSH this sounds so wrong – don’t get the wrong message, peeps. I ain’t lesbo. XD)

Anyway, heard so many nonsensical stories these 2 weeks that it makes me smile every time I think about it: Huiyee’s story about singing in class, Apek’s thief-in-training with his hostel door and his AH SAM(S), Gerry Ah Kia using SK-2 (??!!), Ama and Ju’s ‘awesome’ lecturers… the list goes on!

THANK YOU EVERYONE. I really had a two-week long fairy tale with you guys: so much of slacking off and having fun that going back to uni almost feels like falling hard on reality. Ya know, the usual back-to-school (um, uni?) blues? MAN, I sleep at 4am and wake up at 11am almost everyday these two weeks – I WONDER HOW I’M GONNA GO BACK TO WAKING UP AT 7AM. PowPow, save me! XD

Looking forward to December holidays already! That time, we’re gonna have our FULL FORCE back. HAHAHAHAHA. I miss Hone-y. No worries, time’s gonna fly past by fast and sweet.

A moment of retreat with my best buddies from all over Malaysia is just about as close to paradise for me. I LOVE YOU GUYS LOADS.

And before I start rambling off about my countless outings (especially in GURNEY, WTH?!) and and money spent (though worth it, doing things I love with people I love XD) I MUST TELL YOU ABOUT MY GAMING STREAK the past week. WOW WOW WOW.

I TOOK JUST 5 NIGHTS TO FINISH TALES OF LEGENDIA. OMG!

The amazing Tales of Legendia~

This is my best gaming streak as of yet, leveling up my characters all the way to lvl 40++ and completing the game in under 40 hours. AMAZING! I've never even played Kingdom Hearts so fast - it took me two weeks to finish KH2. So my journey with Tales of Legendia is just pretty awesome! XD

I felt that this game was kinda underrated. YEAH. It only got a review of 6.2/10 but I find it pretty fun and playable! Sure, the tale ain't that awesome nor that well developed as compared to ABYSS - but the characters made up for it by being so easily lovable! Um, minus stupid Shirley. It's FUN! Imagine playing an action based game (battle system alike Abyss) but then still being able to control 3 people at once..?!?! WOW!

Last time I had so much fun was with Tales of the Abyss. :)

VICTORY! Yeah, Jay!

The game is actually divided into 2 parts, that is: the main events and the side events. Which means, after finishing the game, you've only just completed the main event. The second part of the game then resumes (optional) - the character development side of the game. A very interesting system, no? So now I'm done with the main event - and I'm gonna put off my optional side of the game for... some other time. BWAHAHAHAHA. My fingers are stiff from playing too hard. BWAHAHAHAHHAA

The storyline's pretty awesome to play too. A little bit unbelievable, because any normal human would not be as lucky as Senel Coolidge to live past so many near-death experiences. And of course, Shirley's character is horrid, and her seiyuu's squeaky voice does nothing to make her lovable. Not forgetting, though, there's this Chloe Valens who's so obviously into Senel - but Senel's too dense to notice. BWAHAHAHAHA

And of all things, Shirley, the horrid one, is the one who can woo Senel's heart?!?! WTH?!?! Chloe's gotta be so much better than Shirley! And to think that Chloe was the one beside Senel all this time throughout this whole Merines saga!

Enough with the annoying-Shirley-romance thing. Kills off the game. But then there are so many other likable characters: AND MY FAVOURITE'S GOTTA BE JAY. XD

The cool Jay the Unseen

Jay the Unseen is a professional spy with a sexy sounding seiyuu!! NYAHHHHH~!! XD HIS VOICE, HIS VOICE, HIS VOICE!! XD *swoons* He fights like a ninja and I love him all the more when I'm using him as my Leader. XD HIS VOICE, HIS VOICE, HIS VOICE! XD OOOOH JAYYYYY!!! He's so awesomely cool! And brilliant!! And amazing!!

AHEM.

Well, of course there's also crazy Moses Sandor - the head of bandits, and he's so stupid that everyone (Norma and Jay) calls him stupid bandit. HAHAHAHA. Together with Norma, the both of them light up the entire game with their random laughable humour. Add in Jay's sarcastic wit (Jay's a little like Jade from Abyss - just smaller, cuter, and an awesome seiyuu~) and the whole game turns into a dynamic comedy. It's pretty awesome! XD

Let's all not forget the extremely strict but funny Will Raynard! Norma calls him 'Teach' and I think that suits him just fine as a nerdy historian researcher. XD

Last but not least, there's the awesomely cool GRUNE. To think that I, of all people, would swoon over a WOMAN?!?! But there's more to this hot chick than just her looks. She's so blur and fearless that it's almost taunting. Still water runs deep, I guess...

... oh and this Grune's history is still a huge mystery I'm yet to uncover. Perhaps I'll find out more about her intriguing behaviour when I play the side events? WHOO-HOOOOO!! Can't wait to get started on that, now! XD

AHEM.

For gamers who are interested, give Tales of Legendia a try, no? It's newer than Tales of the Abyss, in terms of date of release. But if you haven't played Tales of the Abyss, it may be tough for you dudes out there to grab a hold of the battle system and such. Unlike Abyss in which Vandesdelca actually taught Luke (you) sword training... LEGENDIA GIVE NO HINTS/TUTORIALS FOR BATTLES AT ALL.

... yeah. If I hadn't played Abyss before I'd be blur throughout the entire game. That's the only down point of Legendia, though. Oh and mind you, bosses have 50, 000HP in Legendia. Yourself? A mere 2,000HP if you're diligent, perhaps? A battle tip from me: GET a couple of Black Onyx(s) for your party before you kill yourself entirely.

Btw, if you haven't been following my FB updates? I FINISHED DISSIDIA!! WHOOOO-HOOO!! I'm just THAT awesome. BWAHAHAHAHAHA.

(Oh and on another note, I managed to finish Senkou no Night Raid and Rosario to Vampire as well last week. BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Which explains why I'm rushing like a lunatic to do lab reports now. PowPow, rescue me!)

UNI LIFE - What joy, what freedom! What unpredictability, what randomness!

The ever unpredictable tutor Mania who's a PhD in Mancylogy! The eccentric Miki with her ever-growing closet! The randomness of ChengX2 - Khaleel at 1am? XD So many other people who've left such a huge mark in my everyday life: Fadhli (Didi), Tien Hui, Ah Skirt, Ziq, KhoiX2, Raz, Hickmarh, Audrey, May, Soo Peng and so many more! Even Fatin... who's now in Terengganu. And oh, the 'love' that my psychotic-fellow-Scorpio-roomie-murderer PowPow has showered me with! Man, I love you guys. :)

And yeah, for those who ask the obvious: I'M ACTUALLY HAVING A BLAST IN UNI. XD

But as for my darling Form 6 friends? Don't need me telling you guys this! You know I'll still miss and love you guys like hell. Nothing else tops this. And I will STILL say this at the end of my three years in uni.
